After completing his primary education, circumstances prevented him from immediately pursuing secondary and tertiary studies. Yet, the desire for learning never left him.
Instead of allowing this setback to define his future, he immersed himself in commercial business through the traditional apprenticeship system. His unwavering focus and discipline soon enabled him to establish a thriving motor spare parts enterprise, one that earned him respect within the business community and provided a solid foundation for the extraordinary academic journey that would follow.
He is married to Mrs. Eucharia Ncheta Muonanu, and together they built a family deeply rooted in faith, perseverance, and the value of education. Their marriage is blessed with children who have all graduated from the university in various professional fields, a testament to the principles he upholds and lives by.
Motivated by his lifelong dream, Barr. Luke Ikechukwu Muonanu resumed his formal education at a mature age, enrolling at St. Michael’s College, Jos, where he excelled in the West African School Certificate examination. With renewed confidence, he earned a Diploma in Law from the University of Jos, then sat for the JAMB examination and successfully gained admission to study Law at the same institution.
In a moment symbolic of humility and dedication, he matriculated alongside two of his children the same year his first daughter graduated. He attended General Studies classes with them, demonstrating in very practical terms that true education is neither limited by age nor circumstances.
Driven by an uncommon thirst for knowledge, he continued to advance academically, culminating in the successful completion of his Doctor of Philosophy (PhD) in Law. His doctoral research focused on “APPRAISAL OF SUPERVISORY ROLE OF SHAREHOLDERS ON THE BOARD OF DIRECTORS IN CORPORATE GOVERNANCE IN NIGERIA”, an area of law of legal scholarship, which further strengthened his profile as a thoughtful scholar-practitioner and contributed valuable insights to the legal fields.
